a strong first-quarter fundraising effort that raised over $1.1 million. The campaign’s quarterly financial report was filed today with the Secretary of the Senate.

“We are tremendously grateful to the thousands of South Carolinians who have joined Senator’s team and invested in our campaign,” said Scott Farmer, campaign manager. “This was the one best fundraising quarters that Senator Graham has ever had.”

Fourteen Senate seats currently held by Republicans are up for re-election in 2014, and early reports suggest Graham’s nearly $5.4 million cash-on-hand could rank as the 2nd highest among GOP Senators and candidates. Republican Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky announced last week he has $8.6 million in the bank.

“People across South Carolina appreciate Senator Graham’s willingness to tackle tough problems with conservative solutions,” said Farmer.
